Will the day ever come where America and Russia will see eye to eye on every issue? Well, I hope that day comes, and soon. With Syria gassing their own people with chemical weapons, Russia is defending Syria into letting it do whatever it wants. America is still thinking on the right thing to do and is contemplating between attacking and just asking Syria for its chemical weapons. It seems that the attacking part is on hold and the surrendering part is now the priority of the countries involved. Is it a victory? For some, yes. The prevention of senseless war and further bloodshed is seen as a win by peace lovers and humanitarians alike, while some see the hesitation of America to attack as a sign of weakness and a bending to the will of Russia.
Just as soon as homosexuality scored a win in the US, Russia has been on a full rampage against LGBT rights. Edward Snowden leaked NSA secrets and where does he go to? It seems that Russia will be the arch nemesis of America forever, or is it the other way around? It’s still surprising to remember that America fought with the Soviet Union against the Axis powers. But with America’s delay to enter World War 2 causing the deaths of tens of millions of Russians plus America’s refusal to treat the USSR as a legitimate part of the international community, the relationship just went sour and gave way to the Cold War. After decades, the Cold War over, America and Russia is still on a feud with each other, and with Syria in between, there is a possibility that Russia will be at war with America.
We are now at the brink of another World War. I really hope that everything is done to prevent this sort of thing from happening.
