5 Returning Shows We’re Excited to Watch Again

Shameless_2011_Intertitle

Oh 2014, how I love you so much. You replaced 2013 (the best year for TV, so far) but you’ve given me so many shows to watch. Aside from the new shows, you’ve also brought back old ones that I love so dearly. I look forward to all that you will bring, and all the new shows that you will cancel. For now, I want to talk about the returning shows for this year, starting with…

Archer

Danger zone!!! Sorry, had to do that. Did you see the latest episode of Archer? It was so… different. I don’t want to spoil anything but they’ll be heading into a new direction in Season 5. Don’t worry, it’s still funny and action packed with all the crazy characters and all their crazy antics. Archer should be nominated for best comedy show and just beat everybody in that category.

Arrow

I know, TV has a lot of shows better than Arrow, but this show excites me in some way I can’t explain. Maybe because I know Oliver Queen is a bad boy and I still believe I can change him. Or maybe it’s the cast of beautiful ladies that keep me interested. I can defend Arrow any time, any day of the week. If you like comic books or comic book movies, chances are you also like this show.

Shameless

This is the craziest show of all the dramas in TV. From the title itself, most of the acts that the characters do are shameless. The characters lie, cheat, steal, kill terminally patients, transport drugs from Mexico, and fornicate with sex-offenders. But with all the disgusting things I’ve said, at the center of the show is a blinking warmth that’s supposed to represent a heart of some sorts. If you haven’t watched the show, give it a try.

The Americans

You’ve guessed it. The list will not be complete without The Americans. And to be honest, I’m really excited for the show to come back. And it’s not just me. A lot of people who’ve searched for top ten best drama lists have seen The Americans a lot of times so there is a lot of enthusiasm for the show’s 2nd season. I’m excited to see how Philip and Elizabeth’s blooming love, their wardrobe choices, and the wigs that they will use. Margo Martindale will also come back for at least one episode. 2nd season of The Americans comes back at FX, February 26 at 10 PM.

Hannibal

I’m a fannibal of Hannibal.. yes, I went there. To be honest, I don’t understand half of what they’re saying, but the show is really intriguing, well-acted, and visually stunning. This show came from the guy who brought us Pushing Daisies, Dead Like Me, and Wonder Falls so you know Hannibal’s level of craziness is pretty high. From the highly intricate murder scenes to the gourmet human dishes that Dr. Lecter cooks, this show is a real gem and should go on until Bryan Fuller says “enough”.
