Keri Russell’s career has been launched because of the show Felicity. She also starred in the recent hit movie, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. “[With] ‘Felicity’ I was the main person,” she told MTV News. “That was a real grind. I think because Matt and J.J. [Abrams] had never [produced a show] before, and we were creating a really cinematic show for the olden days… we worked a lot of hours.”
Keri Russell may have enjoyed working on Felicity and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, but says working on FX’s show The Americans has given her the time of her life.
Her current work and the significantly acclaimed FX drama, The Americans is what’s igniting her creative fire and giving her a more time and opportunity to catch up on some family time.
“What I love about ‘The Americans’ is the thirteen episodes, which means I can work really hard for four and a half months, and then be with my kids, or go do a movie, do a play,” she says, adding that the substance itself is also a motive to have a good time (we agree).
“Just the quality of working on cable right now is just the best place to work,” she explained. “Especially being an actress — it’s tough right now in movies. There are a few, a handful, that I think are great movies. If you win the lottery and get to be the girl in that movie, you have maybe one good scene. You’re usually someone’s girlfriend, or a mom, worried. My show that I get to do is this really rich, in-depth character, and it’s fun. It’s weird, and all of these different things, not just the supporting girlfriend in one scene.”
Keri Lynn Russell who was born on March 23, 1976 is an American actress and dancer. After making an appearance in several of made-for-TV films and series during the mid-1990s, her fame started when she took in the title role Felicity Porter on the TV series Felicity. Felicity ran from 1998 to 2002. She had won a Golden Globe Award for this character role in 1999. Her extensive and curly hair was one of her character’s defining characteristics. A sweeping hairstyle alteration at the commencement of the show’s second season was said to have caused a considerable drop in the show’s television ratings.
Russell after Felicity has since then has appeared in a number of films including Mission: Impossible III (2006), Waitress (2007), August Rush (2007), Extraordinary Measures(2010), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), and presently has a lead role in the FX television series The Americans.
This year, Keri Russell stars in the film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, a sequel to the 2011 movie Rise of the Planet of the Apes together with actors Andy Serkis and Gary Oldman.[23]
