Keri Russell had the worst days of her life last week. December 4, her home was burglarized by thieves, December 5, she and her husband of almost 7 years split. Let’s try to break everything down.
Last Wednesday, December 4, two burglars entered the Brooklyn home of Ms. Russell while she was still asleep. The thieves were Ronald Swindell, 50 years old, and his nephew Steffon Swindell, 19 years old. They robbed Keri Russell’s house at 3am. The robbers, unsatisfied with their loot, went to another location to steal more valuables. Good thing a 70 year old resident saw them fleeing the scene.
“The suspects entered through an unlocked window,” police said. “They stole a Filson bag, earrings, a Mac Book Air laptop computer, and a necklace. The victim awoke to the sounds of footsteps and two voices upstairs. When she went upstairs the front door and living room window were open, and the items were missing.”
Thankfully, there were no injuries that were reported. It’s unclear whether her former husband, Shane Deary, and their kids Willow and River were at home when the incident occurred.
“The thieves then proceeded to another location at (nearby) Remsen Street, at 5:20 a.m. ET, where a 70-year-old woman reported having an iPad and a laptop stolen. The second victim saw two suspects fleeing, who were later caught nearby and then charged. They were in possession of the both victims’ property when they were apprehended.”
The thieves were charged with burglary for the 2nd home and possession of stolen goods from Ms. Russell’s home.
“Everyone is fine and Keri sends her thanks to the police,” a rep by Keri Russell has confirmed.
A day later, December 5, 2013, as if expertly written by a TV drama writer, a rep by Ms. Russell has announced the split. ‘They have been separated since early summer. The separation is amicable and their focus is on their children.’
Keri Russell and Shane Deary were married Valentine’s day of 2007. They we’re married for almost 7 years. Their kids, River and Willow are 6 years old and 23 months respectively.
The Americans star had this to say about her marriage in 2007: ‘It doesn’t really change anything. Everything’s the same. But I’m so happy. I’m with someone I really enjoy and respect and love hanging out with.’
She had lots to say about her kids on her previous interview at Capitol Hill, which she says is her focus nowadays. There have been lots of pictures of Keri Russell with her kids appearing on the internet, maybe showing to the world that the most important things are still her kids.
On the May issue of Women’s Health, Ms. Russell said “I try to quell my guilt by saying I’m a better mom if I’m interested in my own life. I’m not resentful. I can be really engaged when I am there,” she said. “I like the yin and yang of both worlds, and I think it would be hard for me to give up either one.”
