The Americans Win at TCA Awards

ff

For the past weeks we’ve been venting out our anger and dismay due to the fact that our beloved show ‘The Americans’ only got two Emmy nominations. Snubbed, maybe, but apparently, the Television Critics Association has better taste than the Academy of Television Arts in Sciences because ‘The Americans’ won the Outstanding New Program of the Year award.

Surprisingly, the new darling of the TV scene ‘House of Cards’ was absent from the winners list. It was nominated for Outstanding New Program of the Year and Program of the Year but the honors went to ‘The Americans’ and ‘Breaking Bad’ respectively.

Tatiana Maslaney, known for playing a lot of different versions of herself in the internet approved show ‘Orphan Black’, won the Individual Achievement in Drama category.

Louis C.K. got a well deserved Individual Achievement in Comedy trophy for his comedic efforts in his show ‘Louis’ and his stand up specials. Two hilarious shows ‘Parks and Rec’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’ shared the Outstanding Achievement in Comedy award.

Other winners include ‘Game of Thrones’ nabbing an Outstanding Achievement in Drama award. ‘Game of Thrones’ won last year’s Program of the Year category.

Congratulations to all the winners, especially ‘The Americans’. Here is the list of winners in the recently concluded TCA Awards:
